PRIVACY POLICY
Effective July 6, 2026
AMMORANGER collects almost nothing. This page describes what we store today, and what will apply when user accounts go live. We describe only practices AMMORANGER actually follows or has committed to follow.
Accounts
User accounts are currently a non-functional preview. Creating an account, or submitting the price-alerts form, sends nothing and stores nothing today.
When user accounts are live, the following applies:
- What we collect — to create an account you provide your email address and choose a password. We store your email address and a securely hashed version of your password. We do not collect your name, and we never collect payment information — AMMORANGER does not charge users or process payments.
- How we use it — your email address operates your account and sends the price alerts you set up. We do not send marketing email, and we never send text messages.
- Email delivery — account and alert emails are sent from accounts@ammoranger.com through a third-party email delivery service, which receives your email address only to deliver these messages on our behalf.
- Deleting your account — you can delete your account at any time, yourself, from your account page. This removes your email address and saved alerts from our records.
What Is Stored in Your Browser
- Theme preference — your dark/light choice is saved in your browser's local storage and in one cookie (
ammoranger_theme, kept for up to one year) so pages load in the right theme. This is the only cookie we set. - Age confirmation — when you confirm you are 18 or older, that confirmation is kept in your browser's local storage for up to 30 days, then it expires and you are asked again. You can also clear it anytime via the Age Verification link in the site footer.
- Your last search — the caliber and ZIP code from your most recent search are kept in session storage and in the page URL so the back button works. They are deleted when you close the tab.
Your ZIP Code Stays on Your Device
When you enter a ZIP code, it is used entirely within your browser to estimate your state's sales tax. It is never transmitted to or stored on our servers.
No Analytics or Advertising Trackers
AMMORANGER runs no analytics scripts, no advertising pixels, and no third-party trackers on its pages. The one exception is affiliate click data, described below, which will exist only to reconcile commissions and will never be tied to your identity. Like every website, the server that delivers our pages receives your IP address in order to respond to your request; we do not use it to identify or profile you.
No Sale of Data
We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone. We share it only with the service providers needed to run AMMORANGER — once accounts are live, that means the email delivery service described above — and only so they can perform that service for us.
Affiliate Links and Click Data
When affiliate links go live, clicking a retailer link will record an anonymous click event so we can reconcile the affiliate commissions we are owed. This event will not be tied to your identity — we do not attach your name, email, or account to it, and we do not use it to track you across other sites. It exists only for affiliate accounting.
Many retailer links are handled through third-party affiliate networks (such as AvantLink or Commission Junction). When you click through, these networks may set their own cookies or record their own click data to attribute the referral. That activity is governed by those networks' privacy policies, not ours. Once you click through to a retailer you leave AMMORANGER and the retailer's own privacy policy applies. See our Affiliate Disclosure for how affiliate links work.
Changes to This Policy
If our data practices change, this page will be updated before the change takes effect, and the effective date above will reflect the latest version.
