.44 AMP Ammo Prices
The Auto Mag pistol was one of the most beautiful mechanical failures in handgun history and this is the round built to feed it around 1970. Stainless steel and gorgeous and cursed with reliability problems that sank the whole project. The cartridge itself was essentially a .308 rifle case cut down and loaded with a .44 bullet. Pure ambition on paper.
There is essentially no factory ammunition and there never really was in volume. The people who keep the surviving Auto Mags running are handloaders by absolute necessity. This is brass and dies territory for collectors of beautiful lost causes.
